Aerium is a redeveloped industrial facility at first expected to be an aircraft shelter. The Nazis constructed this humongous foundation in the early years of World War II to build up their army installation.
They involved the site until 1945, when the Red Army seized it. The Soviet Army at that point expanded the runway from 1,000m to 2,500m. This made the building a powerful place to house military aircraft. In 1994, after the reunification of East Germany, the Soviet Army restored the base to the Government of Germany. after 2 years, an organization named CargoLifter gained the working to manufacture carriers.
